    “Aural ammunition.”

  2. MetalMaskMilitia says:

This isn’t rap. It has elements of early break and hip hop culture (WAY different from modern day corporate controlled brainless robotic pop-rap, i.e. Lil Wayne/Soulja boy) But the beat and the lyrics/delivery do have elements of early NY hip hop incorporated into them. And why shouldn’t they? They were radical at the time. “Art is the word” on the train.. Love it.. This is music.. Expirimentation and exploration. Anyone bashing this as “rap” open your ignorant mind and fuck off!

universal challenge, we could have used the Clash in the top 40 8 yrs ago!

  4. bayareababe2004 says:

Besides being a good song to listen to, his song still relevant after all these years.
“using audio ammunition” “using oral ammunition” “cashing in the bill of rights”

  5. sandybedandy says:

Sooooo good, raw and creative. When did music change from being critical of politics to just PC? I give this 5 stars…BABY!

what fucking ever yoy say, this is Clash, no more no less.

  16. garciare1 says:

You call it The Clash. Quit trying to pigeon-hole everything.

  17. garciare1 says:

This is not rap! Not even close. What a disparaging and ignorant thing to say. Don’t even try to legitimize rap by comparing it to real musicians. Rap is just karaoke with a paycheck.

  18. MarcTheHitMaker says:

We used to break dance to this back in the 80’s, there was allot in common, and allot of collaboration between early Hip Hop, New Wave, and Punk rock artist. Anyone old enough to remember knows the truth….

  19. louiscfc93 says:

rap abck then was different.they made beats and rythms with ther voices coz they had no money.now its just millionaires makin boring music.like rock and metal also

  20. sophieburbuja says:

unlike rap artists who most of the time get someone to do the back beats for their lyrics and then do playback on concerts, Im not saying rap artists dont posess any talent, coz they do, but it has little to do with music.

  21. sophieburbuja says:

anything but rap, joe strummer is clearly singing in this song, if you wanna find some rap sounding song by the clash, then you should turn your ears to “the magnificent seven”, not this song, although that other song is from an album that had 35 other songs, lots of them very experimental for them, hell they even did a valse, and the clash didn’t base their career on rock rap anyways, its one song, in which they still played their instruments and wrote music

  22. louiscfc93 says:

    what would you call this

  23. louiscfc93 says:

its as close to rap as you can get without it being classed as rap.thts what i meant

  24. sophieburbuja says:

in what way is this rap? would you give me a description of what rap is?

  25. strikeanote says:

it has its similarities but its just not rap. very much in its own elements of funk and pop but strangely enough he’s talking about politics. i see what you mean by saying “its pretty much..rap” but its just not.
