Peter Gabriel – In Your Eyes (Radio Edit / Single Version)

Posted by admin On December - 27 - 2009

This mix appeared originally in 1986 on the Geffen promo 7" and later in 1989 as the single version on 45 and cassette to promote the "Say Anything" Soundtrack (WTG records). The 1986 "single version" was over 6 minutes long and this was the "radio edit". It contains the additional verse at the end similar to how Peter plays this song live. "...accepting all I've done and said..." This audio is from the 1989 Promo CD single. Enjoy!

Two women in the two videos:

Ellen Drew in “America for Me” (1953)
Thelma Tadlock in “Design for Dreaming” (1956)

    Hat tip to Alohaelvis78.

Because in todays world anything involving religon, like churches, are politically incorrect. Shame….

  6. smigbabb says:

    i love this…………………

  7. dexdan2 says:

When (and why) did they take out “I see the doorway to a thousand churches” on all the Clear Channel stations? It’s a beatiful line and the song is incomplete without it.

You forgot to sign off with “init?”

  11. HartmutRast says:

Peter Gabriel has always been one of the leading musicians and setting up new standards and trends if you remember his part during the 70s with Genesis.

In the hindsight it looks all simple with the current digital support, but they hadn’t it that much in the past when music was more self-made and a passion.

However, thank you for posting the video – it’s amazing and one of the best here.

the song and music motivates and uplifts you when you’re feeling down. one of my favorites. didn’t know the song was recorded back in 86

    woo!

  15. alohaelvis78 says:

Actually, the two old films in the video were promotional films for Greyhound and General Motors. The girl dancing is not Cyd Charisse, it is Thelma “Tad” Tadlock. She was a dancer and choreographer.

  16. KisaAndHiro says:

  17. corwaldi says:

  18. leaiplussize says:

GilbertsV1 I agree with you 100% no talent and creativity in videos anymore, I don’t even know why the have the MTV videos awards.

  19. spotsart says:

    cyd is so hot
he must have had a crush on her too….

  20. ZeldaFanaticForever says:

    @ GilbertsV1
Way too true. Plus, lots of people these days probably can’t even sing, they depend on technology to make them sound good.

I love this song, I can’t stop listening to it :)

  21. GilbertsV1 says:

wow, even in 86 they make a music video with creativity, something that failed theses days with 25 cents slut dancing with mini skirts…

  22. ZeldaFanaticForever says:

This is one of my favorite songs. My (male) choir teacher sang this while a few girls and I played instruments in the background at a concert. I listened to this song and wrote out the chords by hand and played them on the piano. Not bad for a 13-14 year old, I must say (I can’t remember exactly how old I was then).

This makes me want to slow dance….

  23. tmbarden says:

I still have this single cassette tape!

  24. vederchi says:

And all my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

  25. merryjing says:

    your an angel…gabriel….!!
