During World War II, GIs in the field built really amazing simple radios to listen too. These were made with materials that they could get their hands on and were small enough to carry around in a big pocket. You can modify this design if you want to set it up so that it's tuneable too! How to Make a Foxhole Radio

kool
awesome
lol… this combined with the home made speaker… just need a home made tv and i’m all set lol
yea right at the same time he puts the fire on the fire engines siren goes off.LOL
i dont know…i think you must use at least a transistor(or two) or op-amp or some amp IC(TDA…)
The problem with this kind of radio is that you cannot tune the radio. That is, the station you will hear is the one that has the most power.
You’d need some kind of active element to amplify the signal. Sorry, there’s no easy way to do that.
That said, try listening at night, since this is when the ionosphere is the most reflective for radio signals, and you can get a signal from very far away!
can you ampfly the audio with a battery?
lol. At 2:32 you can hear sirens in the background

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!
How long would that 120 times around the coil translate to?
@anorwood84 tyvm! very well explained!
Like AC voltage, Radio waves are alternating as well… As with any alternating current, they travel to areas of smaller potential. So for example, Radio Waves being picked up by the antenna have a higher potential than ground. So the current travels from the antenna through the coil, catwhisker, through the earpiece, then to the ground.
i got so lucky i listned to 103.5 and in a walk in a park i listened to 101.1 they have realy good songs
Yes the number of coils will affect the tuning frequency.
Using a ground maximizes the potential difference between the radio wave and ground. In other words it makes the signal bigger.
Does anyone know if the amount of coils change the radio station you pick up or the quality or anything at all?
why do I need a ground?
simple things that make you think and use your brain cells… what can you modify to receive shortwave broadcasts? thanks!
make me one
HEY does the gounge of the coil matters ???
wtf where do i get a cat whisker?
where is the pdf ur talking about?
This is cool.
am
lalalala
NICE!!! Gona make it someday…
